These data are from the National Center for Health Statistics, CDC, and include all American Indians and Alaskan Natives residing in the United States. The number of deaths during the 3 year period for each cause is shown in each box.  For the 10 Leading Causes of Injury Death, the unintentional causes of injury death are broken into the respective categories, such as falls, pedestrian, drowning, poisoning, etc. The suicide and homicide categories include all associated mechanisms. Therefore, all categories are mutually exclusive.
