State Emergency Preparedneses Plans for Early Childhood Programs

The following is a sample of State emergency preparedness plans for child care facilities. The sample does not include all State plans, but is meant to represent a range of approaches States have taken to develop/implement emergency preparedness planning.   • The Massachusetts Department of Early Learning and Care has developed a brief guide to assist family child care providers in meeting the requirements for a written emergency procedures plan.   • Day Care Planning Toolkit, by the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency, includes a three-part plan (i.e., a basic plan, checklists, and supporting documents), a PowerPoint presentation to use for introducing the planning process, and a Daycare Facilities Planning Guide.
