NASA Officials and Astronaut Meet with Baltimore Students

An educational partnership between the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and the Southeast Middle School in Baltimore, Md. will have its official kickoff event thisThursday, Sept. 28, first at 10 a.m. EDT and then at 1 p.m. EDT to allow the entire student body to participate.

Participating in the event will be officials from NASA Headquarters and NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center and NASA Astronaut Paul Richards.

The NASA Explorer Schools Program provides schools with classroom resources and innovative technology based on NASA's missions and discoveries. During the three-year partnership, NASA helps schools address science, technology, engineering and mathematics needs. Southeast Middle School was selected as a NASA Explorer School beginning in academic year 2006-2007.
