Well Data Receipt Online Query
Any operator of a lease or unit on the Gulf of Mexico Federal (GOMR) Outer Continental Shelf (OCS)
who has drilled a well for the purposes of exploration for, or development of, oil or gas
resources must submit certain well data to the Minerals Management Service (MMS) Gulf of
Mexico Regional Office. This includes wells currently drilling, previously drilled and
temporarily abandoned, or previously drilled and completed. Well data for GOMR OCS wells
should be submitted to the Technical Data Management Section.
The purpose of this listing and online query is to provide basic information regarding the
due date and receipt of certain well data required under 30 CFR 250.468 and 469. The Technical
Data Management Section (TDMS) is responsible for collection, quality control, tracking, and
compliance enforcement of this well data. For more information or guidance on well data
submittal or well data receipt please contact the TDMS. Please note that that the Well Data
Receipt Query is filtered to display data received for the last two years due to the large
volume of information we have stored. Should you have questions regarding your data shipments
please contact the TDMS.
Title 30 – Mineral Resources – Chapter II – Minerals Management Service, Department
of the Interior, Part 250 – Oil and Gas and Sulphur Operations in the OCS
contains regulations for OCS mineral activities. These regulations can be found online at: http://www.gpoaccess.gov/cfr/index.html .
30 CFR 250.468 and 469 specify well records reporting requirements and 30 CFR 250.466 and 467
stipulate what well data must be kept and submitted. Notice to Lessees and
Operators (NTL) 2004-G07 and NTL No. 2004-G07 (Addendum 1) provide further guidance on
submitting well data for GOMR OCS boreholes. Additional reporting guidance for operators can
