Hurricane Isidore over Yucatan Peninsula

Hurricane Isidore hammers the Yucatan Peninsula even as it moves westward into the Gulf of Mexico and begins eyeing the Gulf Coast of the United States. In this true-color Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) image from the Aqua satellite, the large atmospheric circulation associated with the storm is easily seen. If the storm were centered in the Gulf, it would fill it completely. This iamge was acquired on September 22, 2002.
