Toxicologic
Evaluation
Introduction to the Section
Suppose that in the early stages of a public health assessment of a site
near your home, the health assessor determined that
people in your community are coming in contact with chemicals from
the site
and
further evaluation is needed to determine whether the chemicals
that people are contacting could make them sick.
You'd probably wonder what's involved in this further evaluation.
This further evaluation, called a toxicologic evaluation, involves estimating
the amount of the chemical that enters the body and considering additional
data about health effects associated with the chemical.
