I will be facilitating a discussion group at TESOL on Friday evening, March 28 from 7-7:45 p.m., entitled "Program Standards for Adult ESOL revisted" (#1353), Room 339, Baltimore Convention Center. I need to do a little more preliminary research and wonder if those of you in the adult ed. arena would be kind enough to answer these 4 questions: (I prefer that you answer me in private, but answering on the list is okay, too. Be sure to tell me where you are from.) Thanks! Barb Dorsett at: barbsesl@worldpath.net 1) Have your centers gotten copies of and read TESOL's "Standards for Adult Education ESL Programs" and also NCLE's "Research Agenda for Adult ESOL?" Reactions? 2) Have your ESOL programs adopted or created any type of standards, especially for instruction? 3) Have lesson plans been developed by your own instructors with regard to these standards in order to help students in their roles as parents, workers, and community members? In what format are these lessons available? (Online? Binders? etc.) 4) How are you measuring the impact your ESOL program has on your learners' lives? ----- Original Message ----- From: Kate Singleton <katesingleton@cox.net> To: Multiple recipients of list <nifl-esl@literacy.nifl.gov> Sent: Tuesday, March 18, 2003 11:17 AM Subject: [NIFL-ESL:8821] ESL Health Literacy at TESOL > Hello, listmembers. > > I will be presenting a workshop called "Health Literacy and Adult ESOL > Learners" at TESOL next week.
