All PTDI standards were developed with input from stakeholders, including carriers, schools, insurance companies, safety engineers, risk managers, and government and other experts.

PTDI developed the first industry-recognized voluntary certification standards for school entry-level truck driver training courses, carrier driver finishing programs and younger driver programs. The standards include skill, curriculum and course/program standards.
