The Commission has not objected to the staff's proposal to inform the U.S. Department of Energy, Idaho Operations Office (DOE-ID), of the staff's finding that an adequate safety basis supports granting an exemption to the 10 CFR Part 72 seismic design requirement for the independent spent fuel storage installation (ISFSI) to store Three Mile Island Unit 2 fuel debris. The staff should issue the proposed letter to DOE-ID promptly.
