SUBJECT:	STAFF REQUIREMENTS - SECY-01-0040 - PROPOSED LICENSE AMENDMENT TO ADJUST SHIPPING SCHEDULE OF THE HEU TO THE NETHERLANDS FOR USE AS FUEL IN THE HIGH FLUX REACTOR IN PETTEN (LICENSE NO. XSNM02611-AMENDMENT NO. 1)

The Commission has approved issuance of the proposed license amendment to Transnuclear, Inc. (License No. XSNM02611) to allow the three delayed Category II shipments from CY 2000 to take place in CY 2001 and to allow the CY 2001 Category I shipment, as described in SECY-01-0040, subject to agreement on the Transportation and Security Plan for the planned Category I shipment. The Commission approved the amendment on the basis that it is a one-time exception to the annual limit.

As a separate matter, the staff should keep the Commission informed of the status of the conversion to LEU.
