Call for Nominations

Dear LFCC Chairs and PCFO Directors:

The National Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) Awards Committee is soliciting nominations for the annual CFC Heroes and Innovators Awards. One of the highlights of the CFC year is the opportunity we at OPM have to recognize Federal employees and campaign leaders for their outstanding efforts. Last year, this official ceremony was held at the historic Eisenhower Executive Office Building (http://www.whitehouse.gov/history/eeobtour/) followed by a reception in the Indian Treaty Room.

Nominations for the "unsung heroes" and innovators of the 2006 CFC are due by March 15, 2008. Nominations may be sent via email to cfc@opm.gov, using the attached forms. Do not submit nominations via fax. Nominations will be reviewed and selected by the Committee composed of LFCC members and PCFO Coordinators, chaired by Dale Rieck, LFCC Chairperson of the Southwest Georgia CFC.

Awards will be given to individuals selected as CFC Heroes based on their personal involvement that led to a successful campaign. Innovation Awards will also be given to campaigns that have implemented new and creative practices that resulted in increased contributions, participation and/or education about the CFC.

The recipients of these awards will be invited to attend an awards ceremony in Washington, DC later this year. Nominees that are not selected will receive a certificate from the Office of Personnel Management acknowledging their exceptional performance. This is a wonderful way for campaigns to show their volunteers how much they appreciate their work.

Please contact Curtis Rumbaugh at curtis.rumbaugh@opm.gov if you have any questions. We look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Mark W. Lambert
Director
Office of CFC Operations
