CFC MEMORANDUM 2006-8

February 16, 2006
TO:

LOCAL FEDERAL COORDINATING COMMITTEES (LFCCs) AND PRINCIPAL COMBINED FUND ORGANIZATIONS (PCFOs)

FROM: MARA T. PATERMASTER
DIRECTOR
OFFICE OF CFC OPERATIONS
SUBJECT: 2005 CFC HEROES AND INNOVATORS

The National CFC Awards Committee (the "Committee") is soliciting nominations for the annual CFC Heroes and Innovators Awards. One of the highlights of the CFC year is the opportunity we at OPM have to share with and honor Federal employees and campaign leaders for their outstanding efforts. Last year, this official ceremony was held at the historic Eisenhower Executive Office Building (http://www.whitehouse.gov/history/eeobtour/) followed by a reception in the Indian Treaty Room.

Nominations for the "unsung heroes" and innovators of the 2005 CFC are due by Friday, March 31, 2006. Nomination forms are available by sending an email to curtis.rumbaugh@opm.gov.

Nominations will be reviewed and selected by the Committee composed of LFCC members, PCFO Coordinators, and prior year heroes. The Committee will be chaired by Dale Rieck, LFCC Chairperson of the Albany (Georgia) Area CFC.

Awards will be given to individuals selected from each of the following four Federal communities: Civilian, Postal, Military (Uniform), and Military (Civilian). The committee will also review nominations for campaigns that executed an innovative strategy that resulted in increased participation and/or contributions.

The recipients of these awards, to be announced in late April, will be invited to attend an awards ceremony in Washington, DC later this Spring. Details on the date and time of the ceremony will be announced shortly.

These awards are a wonderful way to highlight the CFC and the individuals who make it happen. As such, we invite you to replicate this program locally.

We look forward to hearing from you.
