Lake Youngs Trail

Lake Youngs Trail encircles the City of Seattle’s Lake Youngs Watershed east of the City of Kent and provides more than 9 miles of regional trail popular with walkers, joggers, and equestrians. This soft-surface route provides a rustic rural experience as it passes from suburban neighborhoods to rural lands, open space, and forest landscapes. The trail varies in character as it traces its way around the watershed varying between wider, open road-like segments to well-worn, narrower tracks. While the watershed is fenced from the public, the trail allows ample opportunity to experience the area’s natural environment. The Lake Youngs Trail provides a special rural experience within a growing metropolitan area, and offers users miles of scenic views and rambling opportunities. The trail is easily accessible from 184th Avenue SE, SE 224th Street, and Petrovitsky Road. Parking is available at Lake Youngs Park on Old Petrovitsky Road near Petrovitsky Park.

A convenient connection between the Lake Youngs Trail and the Soos Creek Trail is available at the southwest corner of the loop via SE 216th Street. Trail users can leave the Lake Youngs Trail and continue westbound on this quiet dead-end street to eventually access a connector trail into the Soos Creek Valley. Follow the trail, then continue along SE 216th Street in the valley to its intersection with the Soos Creek Trail. Users can then travel north or south on the Soos.
