Director of the U.S. Office of Personnel Management to Speak at the 2003 Symposium on Employee and Labor Relations


Washington, D.C. - On Tuesday, March 18, OPM Director Kay Coles James will kick off the annual Symposium on Employee and Labor Relations.

The week-long SOELR 2003 is a comprehensive human-resources conference devoted to recent developments and emerging issues in federal government employee relations, labor relations and dispute resolution. In addition, SOELR is a significant OPM event to help federal agencies retain and develop a creative and high-performing work force that achieves a standard of excellence in attaining the human relations outcomes important to the nation.

Focus will be placed on using human-capital strategies effectively to deal with poor performers, while maintaining high standards of employee honesty and integrity, and fostering a work force that is committed to working with management to achieve results.
