Recreational Activities - Wilderness Permits & Reservations

Wilderness permits are required year round for the following:

All overnight visitors to the Ansel Adams, John Muir, Hoover, and Golden Trout Wildernesses.
All visitors entering the Mt. Whitney Zone, day use and overnight

	How to Obtain a Wilderness Permit includes when permits are required, how to get a walk in permit, making reservations and wilderness permit issuing locations.
	About Mt. Whitney, calendar of Overnight and Day Use permit reservation availability and the Mt. Whitney permit lottery.
	Table of dates that are fully reserved for all other trails other than the Mt. Whitney Trail. Additional space is available for walk in permits.
	Reserve a Wilderness Permit using the general application form in Microsoft Word or application form in Adobe PDF for all trails, except the Mt Whitney lottery. Open and print the application with instructions.
	Trailhead Quotas limit the number of people entering the wilderness. View a list of trail names and quotas, what time of year quotas apply, amount of space allocated to walk in permits and reservations, and bear canister required trailheads.
