JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- The State Emergency Management Agency and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announce the opening of a Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) in Johnson County for those affected by the severe storms and flooding that occurred between June 1 and July 18.
The center will be opening in the following location in:
JOHNSON COUNTY
Opening at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 6
Knob Noster City Hall

Operating: Aug. 6-16
8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday and closed on Sunday

Visitors to a DRC will find valuable recovery information on:
- FEMA and state disaster assistance programs;
- U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) low-interest disaster loans and how to complete the loan application;
- Smart building techniques to reduce damage from future floods; and
- Flood insurance.
Those affected by the severe storms and fooding can still register for disaster assistance by calling: 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or TTY 1-800-462-7585. The registration helpline is open daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Online registration is also available anytime at www.fema.gov.
FEMA coordinates the federal government's role in preparing for, preventing, mitigating the effects of, responding to, and recovering from all domestic disasters, whether natural or man-made, including acts of terror.
