JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- The State Emergency Management Agency and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announce the opening of a Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) in Johnson County for those affected by the severe storms and flooding that occurred between June 1 and July 18.

The center will be opening in the following location in:

JOHNSON COUNTY
Opening at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 6
Knob Noster City Hall
218 North State Street
Knob Noster, MO 65336
Operating: Aug. 6-16
8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday and closed on Sunday

Additional Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) in disaster-affected counties include: 
DRCs are closed on Sunday.

Those affected by the severe storms and fooding can still register for disaster assistance by calling: 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or TTY 1-800-462-7585. The registration helpline is open daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.  Online registration is also available anytime at www.fema.gov.

FEMA coordinates the federal government's role in preparing for, preventing, mitigating the effects of, responding to, and recovering from all domestic disasters, whether natural or man-made, including acts of terror.
