Implementating FIPS Code Changes

This page contains information National Weather Service implementation of Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) Code: changes. When NWS makes changes to its products or services, it is our job to ensure customers understand the changes and have the information needed to implement them. Customer notification messages are transmitted on NWS dissemination circuits:

• NOAA Weather Weather Wire Service (NWWS)
• Emergency Managers Weather Information Network (EMWIN)
• NOAAPort
• Family of Services (FOS)
• NOAA Weather Radio stations in the local area affected by the change.
