Philadelphia National Archives Branch Receives Grant for Exhibition Programming
The Heritage Philadelphia Program, funded by the Pew Charitable Trusts and administered by the Independence Visitor Center Corporation, awarded a planning grant totaling $48,845 to the Mid Atlantic Region on February 6, 2004. The Mid Atlantic Program was among seven projects of excellence recognized by the Philadelphia-based program.
The Mid Atlantic planning project will produce a five to seven year strategic and interpretive framework for exhibitions and public programs in the Archives gallery space. The planning process will identify stories and themes, determine which prospects would appeal to various audience groups, and lay the foundation for building staff capacity to execute a temporary exhibition program.
