In Memoriam Professsor Warren S. WoosterDear Colleagues and Friends, A few hours ago, I received a sad message from Professsor Gotthilf Hempel informing me that "Warren Wooster passed on yesterday October 29 in Seattle. We lost one of the outstanding promoters of international oceanography and of mutual assistance, particularly with Latin America. Being a chemical oceanographer, he was one of the few great scientists who brought together physical, chemical and biological oceanography in support of fisheries science. To me he was a good friend and advisor." Patricio A. Bernal, Executive Secretary of IOC |
