Awards:
Lois Loges of the USGS Patuxent Wildlife Research Center's Information Resource Management staff was the recent recipient of a year 2000 Partners in Flight award. The award was given for Lois' excellent work with Partners in Flight on behalf of birds. The award, sponsored by the American Birding Association, is a striking giclee image of Ocellated Antbirds by the renowned tropical bird artist, Tracy Pedersen. The awards were to have been presented at the September 13 meeting of the International Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies (IAFWA) at Kansas City, however the tragic events of September 11 caused the meeting to be postponed until March 2002 where the formal award will be announced. Everyone is invited to visit Lois in her office, congratulate her on her achievement, and see this beautiful piece of art. |
