NOAA's Assessment and Restoration Division has developed numerous Watershed Database and Mapping Projects. Because each project is unique, with its own characteristics, their components vary. But each builds upon a standard database structure and a data delivery application (Query Manager). Most include GIS data as well. |

About the Watershed Database and Mapping Projects NOAA's Assessment and Restoration Division has developed numerous Watershed Database and Mapping Projects that combine a standard database structure, a database application (Query Manager), and GIS data. |
ARD IMS Sites ARD has developed Internet Map Server (IMS) sites of watershed GIS data layers to assist in accessing and analyzing relevant geographic data. The Web-based mapping is intended to provide easy access to our GIS-based tools and analyses by agency staff, the general public and other stakeholders. |
ARD Query Manager, MARPLOT, and GIS Tools (DRAFT) ARD Tools is a collection of Database and GIS tools that NOAA’s Assessment and Restoration Division (ARD) has created to support the protection and restoration of coastal species and habitats. These decision support tools help integrate sediment and tissue contamination and toxicity data in a GIS context. NOAA ARD and project partners can take advantage of these tools to support analysis, mapping and communication of complex spatial contaminant and restoration issues in a Watershed context. |
NOAA Field Observations NOAA conducted a field inspection of Little Elk Creek and several of its tributaries in Mary 2005. The purpose of the field inspection was to evaluate habitat conditions on Little Elk Creek and its tributaries in and around Elkton, Maryland, with a focus on identifying habitat restoration opportunities for NOAA Trust species (anadromous fish, including American shad, white perch, blueback herring and alewife, and catadromous fish, including American eel). NOAA field observations and analysis were coordinated with USEPA and MDE under the "Little Elk Creek Area-Wide One Cleanup Program Pilot". The habitat issues of greatest importance were established as stream bank stability, viability of the riparian zone, and fish blockages. |
NOAA Trust Resources (DRAFT) NOAA acts on behalf of the U. S. Department of Commerce as a trustee for coastal and marine resources. NOAA protects and restores aquatic organisms and their habitat on behalf of current and future generations of Americans. Some state government agencies and Native American tribes also are natural resource trustees |
OR&R Efforts in Vieques, Puerto Rico Vieques is a small island east of mainland Puerto Rico that was formerly used by the U.S. Navy for military training operations. The Navy ceased operations in 2003, and is now investigating areas it previously occupied to determine the extent of contamination. |
Ordering Watershed Database and Mapping Projects NOAA's Assessment and Restoration Division (ARD) has developed numerous Watershed Database and Mapping Projects to combine the use of the Query Manager database and ArcView GIS software applications. |
Query Manager and MARPLOT An introduction to the Query Manager database and MARPLOT mapping applications, which are used extensively in NOAA's Coastal Protection and Restoration Division Watershed Projects. |

CAMEO Chemicals Web Portal A Web portal for CAMEO Chemicals, an easy-to-use, online tool for emergency responders and planners. Use this free Web site to search for chemicals, get response recommendations, and find out how chemicals would react if they mixed. |
Environmental Sensitivity Index (ESI) Maps ESI maps help oil spill responders and planners to identify vulnerable coastal locations, establish protection priorities, and identify cleanup strategies. |
NOAA Restoration Portal Web Site Provides centralized access to information about NOAA restoration resources, including restoration techniques and NOAA restoration references, through a single point-of-entry. |
