  • H-2 Freeway Mililani Interchange Overnight Roadwork Begins Sunday Night
  • Nighttime roadwork and lane closures will begin on Sunday night, September 21, at and near the H-2 Freeway Mililani Interchange as part of ongoing road rehabilitation. Please click here for the latest information on upcoming lane closures and detour routes.
  • 24-Hour Weekend Lane Closures At Puuloa Rd./Salt Lake Blvd. Intersection
  • Various 24-hour lane closures and detours are scheduled this weekend at the intersection of Puuloa Road and Salt Lake Boulevard, for pavement reconstruction beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, September 19. Please click the link above for a list of roadwork locations.
  • 2008 "Click It Or Ticket" Campaign A Success
  • This year, Hawai‘i’s four county police departments issued 4,387 seat belt violation citations during the summer’s “Click It Or Ticket” (CIOT) campaign. The 2008 seat belt education and enforcement campaign ran from May 12 through June 1. During last year’s campaign, police statewide issued 2,793 seat belt tickets.
  • DOT and TSA implement "self-select" program at Honolulu International Airport
  • The state Department of Transportation (DOT) and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) are pleased to announce the implementation of TSA’s Diamond Self-Select Lanes program at the Honolulu International Airport (HNL). The program will begin on September 11, 2008, at approximately 5:00 a.m. at the HNL security checkpoint that serves primarily passengers traveling on United, Northwest, Continental, and American Airlines (Checkpoint 5).
  • Freeway Service Patrol Begins Program Development
  • The state DOT has awarded a $3.9 million contract to develop, manage, and promote a pilot demonstration of the Freeway Service Patrol (FSP) program. The FSP will focus on providing motorist assistance as a means to reduce congestion on O‘ahu’s freeways. Service patrol trucks will patrol the H-1 Freeway and the H-201 Moanalua Freeway during weekday rush-hour traffic to assist stranded motorists, help clear minor incidents and assist with the safe management of traffic around major incident scenes. FSP service is anticipated to begin in the spring of 2009.
