DES MOINES, Iowa -- Disaster mitigation experts from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will be available in Cedar Falls from Wednesday, June 18, 2008, through Saturday, June 28, 2008, to explain measures to prevent or reduce future damage should events like recent tornadoes, severe storms and floods happen again.

The experts will explain a wide range of mitigation measures such as elevating your home, elevating utilities, and securing your roof with gable end bracing, hurricane straps and truss bracing. Descriptive brochures will be available.
