Environmental Impact StatementNUREG-1437, "Generic Environmental Impact Statement for License Renewal of Nuclear Plants Regarding Susquehanna Steam Electric Station, Units 1 and 2 (NUREG-1437, Supplement 35) Draft Report for Comment," was published in April 2008. This supplement documents the NRC staff's review of the environmental issues at Susquehanna Steam Electric Station, Units 1 and 2, regarding the PPL Susquehanna, LLC, application for license renewal of that facility. The supplement was prepared in accordance with 10 CFR 51.71. This draft supplemental environmental impact statement includes the Staff's analysis that considers and weighs the environmental effects of the proposed action (license renewal), the environmental impacts of alternatives to the proposed action, and potential mitigative measures for reducing or avoiding adverse impacts. It also includes the Staff's preliminary recommendation regarding the proposed action. Public InvolvementThe public is encouraged to participate in the reactor license renewal process through public meetings, and public comment periods on rules, renewal guidance, and other documents.
