The purpose of this notice is to synopsize a proposed contract action. This is a pre-solicitation notice and does not commit the Government to issue a solicitation or to award a contract.
The United States Government (USG) has a need to acquire the services of a Contract Research Organization to conduct pre-clinical animal safety and toxicology studies on animals with vaccines comprised of H5N1 antigens and adjuvants manufactured under BARDA contracts. The results of this study will be used to support the filing of an investigational New Drug (IND) application by NIH and BARDA for clinical evaluation of these vaccine formulations as part of an interagency study to improve U.S. pandemic preparedness.
The Government intends to conduct a commercial item acquisition available to all responsible quoters using Simplified Acquisition Procedures pursuant to FAR Parts 12 and 13, respectively. The issuance of a Request For Quotations on Fedbizopps.gov is anticipated on March 19, 2008; the anticipated solicitation response date will be fifteen days thereafter. The Government contemplates multiple awards of Indefinite Delivery / Indefinite Quantity contracts on or about April 21, 2008.
