Junior Achievement Russia Honors Essay Winners

On May 24, 2006, finalists in the fourth Junior Achievement Russia “Simple Words” essay contest assembled at the Zurab Tsereteli Art Museum in Moscow to honor this year’s winners.  Nearly 25,000 students participated in the most recent round of this annual contest. The contest was created in 2002 by academician Evgeniy Velikhov, Junior Achievement Russia Founder and Public Chamber Chairman.

Drawing analogies to Zurab Tsereteli’s success in the field of art, Dr. Velikhov encouraged the young audience to take responsible risks in their work to achieve outstanding results in life. He stressed the importance of expressing “complicated thoughts with simple words” in this year’s competition, “Universal Values of Russians – the Basis of Fair Business Development,” emphasizing that the elimination of corruption will lead to the poverty reduction in Russia.

The 2006 Junior Achievement “Simple Words” essay contest winners are: Igor Ivanov, aged 14 (12- to 14-year age group) and Zarina Kargaeva, age 16 (15- to 16-year age group).
