              OSM AWARDS ARKANSAS $146,588 TO ASSIST
     IN REGULATING SURFACE EFFECTS OF COAL MINING
     The Interior Department's Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and
Enforcement (OSM) is providing Arkansas a $146,588 grant to help the
state regulate the surface effects of coal mining.
     The grant assists in paying half of Arkansas' inspection and
enforcement costs, including equipment, supplies and transportation.
