Eligible/Ineligible
Products
- Eligible
- Poultry and
poultry meat products.
- Giblets cleaned and packed in carcasses or bulk packed are eligible.
- Beef and
beef products.
- Ineligible
- Poultry and
poultry products from Arkansas,
produced on or after May 30, 2008 and on or
before June 21, 2008 are ineligible.*
Documentation
- Fresh/frozen meat and meat
products and poultry and poultry
products - Obtain FSIS Form
9060-5, Meat and Poultry Certificate of
Wholesomeness.
- For beef and
beef products, the following statements should be provided on
an FSIS letterhead certificate:
- The meat
and meat products are derived from cattle that were subject to ante-mortem and
post-mortem inspection according to USDA regulations and were slaughtered after
Jan 12, 2004.
- All cattle
are humanely stunned by a method that does not inject air into the cranial
cavity.
- The beef
and beef products were not derived from and do not contain any of the following
specified risk materials: brain, skull, eyes, trigeminal ganglia, spinal cord,
vertebral column (excluding the vertebrae of the tail, the transverse processes
of the thoracic and lumbar vertebrae and the wings of the sacrum) and dorsal
root ganglia, from animals over 30 months of age at the time of slaughter and
the tonsils and intestine from pylorus to anus, of all animals regardless of
age.
- The beef
and beef products do not contain any mechanically separated meat or advanced
recovery meat.
- For poultry
and poultry products, the following statement should be
provided in the Remarks Section of the FSIS Form 9060-5.
"The products do not originate from states that are under
quarantine
restrictions for
any OIE list A diseases affecting poultry."
Note:
Trinidad/Tobago requires importers to obtain a valid permit and
products to be imported must be
approved. Products may not contain
mucous membranes, organs, or
parts of the genital system/ intestines, (black
gut), spleens, udders, lungs, or
other animal parts not commonly sold as food
articles.
Plants Eligible to
Export
All Federally inspected establishments
are eligible to export to Trinidad/Tobago.
