The Adam Benjamin, Jr. VA Outpatient Clinic in Crown Point, IN, is part of the VA Chicago Health Care System and is located 55 miles southeast of Chicago. The clinic has almost 100 full-time staff members and in fiscal year 2004 had 80,000 outpatient visits for 11,400 individual veterans residing in northwest Indiana and surrounding areas.  The visits were for both primary and specialty care, including services in the following areas: full mental health, cardiology, gastroenterology, infectious diseases/HIV, optometry, ophthalmology, rehabilitation medicine, neurology, podiatry and a variety of surgical subspecialties. Many veterans also receive additional specialty outpatient care and inpatient care at the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center and the Lakeside outpaitent clinic. Regular shuttle transportation is available twice a day in both directions.

During fiscal year 2004, 53 volunteers contributed over 11,000 hours of service to veterans using the Adam Benjamin, Jr. VA Outpatient Clinic.
