Wall Street ended an intensely volatile week with another sell-off Friday while credit markets remained strained after enthusiasm over the government's $700 billion financial rescue plan gave way to worries about obstacles still facing the economy. The Dow Jones industrials fell 157 points, and all the major indexes finished the week with big losses.

Small Businesses Hit Hard by Credit Crunch, Survey Says

Pessimism among business owners in the United States is at an all-time high in the five-year history of the PNC Economic Outlook Survey, with about 30 percent having doubts about their company's prospects over the next six months, the Pittsburgh-based PNC Financial Services Group said Thursday. The credit crunch, the rise in energy prices and the extent of a recession are among the biggest concerns for the nation's business owners.

CalPERS Loses $24.9 Billion But Stays Strong, Analysts Say

Don't feel bad if you've lost a fortune in the stock market during the recent Wall Street turmoil -- so has one of the nation's largest, most sophisticated investment funds. The California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS), the pension fund used to pay the retirements of millions of government employees, has lost $24.9 billion over the last three months. The 10.4 percent loss is less than the S&P's 500, which dropped 13.6 percent in that time. But if the losses continue, state taxpayers could have to make up shortfalls in funding the giant pension system.

The film's promotion began with a viral YouTube video, and the movie finishes with a plea to be responsible about Chihuahua ownership. This is a movie that aims to surprise audiences with the scale of its adventure and with some of the biggest names in Hispanic cinema.

Mr. Morales will long be remembered as the founder of the Mexican American Opportunity Foundation (MOAF).
