Dear We Can!

Dear We Can!,

We are really interested in implementing the We Can! Parent Program in our community. However, once we start the program, how will we know if it’s working?

Thank you for raising this important question! Evaluating the success of your program is essential to helping you understand and share the impact you are having on local parents and caregivers through the We Can! Parent Program.

To evaluate the Parent Program in your community, use the “Tell Us What You Think” evaluation tool as a pre- and post-program questionnaire for parents and caregivers. This questionnaire was designed to help you assess changes in the knowledge, attitudes, and behavioral intentions of program participants and is designed to be completed by participants during the first and last sessions of the program. It includes an instruction sheet that details how to use the questionnaire at your site.

You can find the evaluation tool in the Community Toolkit for Action, the new We Can! Energize Our Families: Parent Program – A Leader’s Guide, and online. Be sure to use your results to inform your next round of programming. Also, please share your good results with your community and the We Can! team so others can see the difference you are making and join you!

We hope these will help you better understand your participants, what they have learned as a result of your program, and help you plan future programs for parents and other caregivers.

Also, remember to share with us the details of your We Can! programming by using the We Can! Community Site Summary Form. We are eager to know how your program is working within your community.

Sincerely,
We Can!
