Research Interests:

Melanie DeBusk is a Research Staff member of the Physical Chemistry of Materials (PCM) group in the Materials Science and Technology Division at ORNL. Her interests include emission treatment catalysts, photocatalysis, and inorganic membranes.

Selected current research themes include:

  • Heterogeneous catalysts for photocatalytic reduction of CO2 for control of greenhouse gas emissions. (GC)
  • Catalyst by Design approach to understanding emission treatment catalysts: NO, hydrocarbon and CO oxidation. (exhaust reactor, ex-situ reactor, STEM)
  • Testing and evaluation of heterogeneous emission treatment catalysts: NOx traps, oxidation catalyst, urea-SCR. (exhaust reactor)
  • Inorganic membranes for liquid separation from gas.
