How to retrieve
Note on image file types: If your browser has problems loading images that
are not in a common web format, then simply clicking the link for the image
may result in the image being downloaded but not successfully displayed,
making it appear that you did not get the image. To avoid this, use your
browser's option that allows you to download the image file to your hard disk,
bypassing the step that opens the file. Large TIFF files are known to cause
this problem.
Using a web browser:
- Navigate to ftp://eol.jsc.nasa.gov/EFS_highres_ISS008_ISS008-E-8951_2.JPG
- Use the "File" menu of your browser to save the file to your computer.

- Use your browser's "Save Target As", "Save Link As", "Download Link to Disk"
or "Save this Link as" feature to download the file to your computer. On
Microsoft Windows computers this is done by right-clicking on the image link
and using the pop-up menu. On Apple MacOS computers this is done by holding the
mouse button down on the link until the pop-up menu shows and then using the
pop-up menu.
Using an FTP client:
- Connect to eol.jsc.nasa.gov using anonymous FTP. This means that your user
name will be "anonymous" and your password will be your e-mail address.
- Set your FTP client to binary mode (BIN).
- Use your FTP client's GET command to get EFS_highres_ISS008_ISS008-E-8951_2.JPG
If you are having troubles connecting, it might be due to a firewall. Setting
your client to use "passive" mode might help with firewall issues.
