The Social Security Administration (SSA) promotes the economic well being of the American people by administering the Social Security and Supplemental Security Income programs.  The San Francisco Region administers these programs in Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, the Northern Mariana Islands, American Samoa, and Guam.  The public we serve is the most diverse in the nation with more than seventy different languages spoken.  Our Region serves over seven million beneficiaries and pays more than $70 billion in benefits annually.  For additional information about SSA and the San Francisco Region, visit our Web pages:  http://www.socialsecurity.gov and http://www.socialsecurity.gov/sf

Formerly known as the Presidential Management Intern Program (PMI), President George W. Bush signed Executive Order No. 13318 in November 2003, which transformed the PMI Program to the new Presidential Management Fellows Program (PMF).
