Thank you for visiting our Web site. The Advanced Reactor Systems & Safety (ARSS) Group at ORNL is a part of the Nuclear Science and Technology Division (NSTD), one of ORNL's largest divisions. ARSS provides a wide range of support for analyzing, modeling, and controlling reactor power systems. Our goals are to (1) develop conceptual designs; (2) identify and develop the needed technologies for advanced reactor systems, both for terrestrial and space power applications; and (3) develop analytical methods and models for analyzing the safety, reliable operation, and controllability of nuclear power systems.
