For more than a half century, the Guide to the Evaluation of Educational Experiences in the Armed Services has been the standard reference work for recognizing learning acquired in the military. The Guide Online contains ACE recommendations for formal courses and occupations offered by the services as individual exhibits.
In February of 2007 The American Council on Education (A.C.E.) reviewed the Boarding Officer Course and recommended that college credit be awarded as follows:
In the lower-division baccalaureate/associate degree category
- Three semester hours in defensive tactics
- Three in criminal investigations
- Three in criminal evidence and procedures
- One in instructor techniques
Search the ACE Guide for previous versions of the BOC or other related courses. Use the keyword of "Law Enforcement".
