The Nebraska Medicaid Program pays for covered medical services for those persons who are unable to afford to pay for medically necessary services and who meet certain eligibility requirements. Nebraska Medicaid is funded jointly by the State and federal government.

Medicare is a federal program and DHHS does not administer it.

Who is Covered?

Nebraska Medicaid is available to certain low income persons including persons who are aged, blind, disabled, children, and others who meet eligibility requirements. Kids Connection is part of Nebraska Medicaid and provides medical assistance to children age 18 and younger.

To apply for medical assistance, an application must be completed and given to the Nebraska Department of Health & Human Services.
