Prosthetics and Sensory Aids Service
VA Prosthetics is an Employer of Choice
VA Prosthetics is an employer of choice. People join the prosthetics workforce because it is
not only a great place to work, it is of great benefit to others. The VA offers competitive salaries
and excellent benefit packages. The benefits include flexible work schedules, paid holidays, both
annual and sick leave, and retirement plans. Health, dental, vision, and life insurance
and flexible health spending accounts are also offered.
Internship Program
To hear what the life of an intern is like, you can watch the testimony of one of the
Prosthetics Representative interns, Franciso Pinedo

One of the many ways to join the VA is through the VA internship program. This provides a 2-year,
on-the-job training program where the intern trains in all aspects of the job series. This has the advantage
of giving an employee exposure to all of the possible roles of the particular career field.
The new person does not get siloed into a particular portion of a job that may or not be of interest to
them. They gain experience in a broad range of activities that allow the intern to help decide
what they enjoy doing and what their best fit is.
