IHS Public Health Professions Disciplines

You are eligible to apply to LRP if you are specializing in any of these disciplines:

Allopathic medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, geriatric medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, podiatric medicine, nursing, public health nursing, dentistry, psychiatry, osteopathic medicine, optometry, pharmacy, psychology, social work, marriage and family therapy, environmental health and engineering, an allied health profession, or other health professions as determined by need.

While all of these disciplines are eligible to apply, the disciplines that are actually funded each year change depending on health program staffing needs. View this year’s priority list (PDF - 282KB).
