Interlibrary loan service will be provided to Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center employees, tenants, and contractors for work-related reference needs. Work-related needs include information required to complete a special assignment or ongoing current awareness needs in the special fields to which an employee is assigned. Requests for materials required for personal development outside of work assignments cannot be accommodated. In order to maintain good relations with lending libraries, users will be required to adhere strictly to return dates on materials borrowed from other libraries.

Loan of materials to other libraries will be provided at no charge. However, items which are currently in high demand at the Aeronautical Center will not be loaned. Decisions on which materials are available for loan will be made at the librarian's discretion.

ONLINE LITERATURE SEARCHES

Fee-based online literature searches will be provided to Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center employees, tenants, and contractors for work-related reference needs. Work-related needs include information required to complete a special assignment or ongoing current awareness needs in the special fields to which an employee is assigned. Charges for online service will be born by the library, not by the requesting organization. For this reason, the necessity for online literature searches as opposed to other research techniques will be determined by the librarian.

PHOTOCOPY SERVICE

Anyone using the library may use the library photocopier to make photocopies of materials found in the library. Since no charge can be made for copies, public users are restricted to no more than 100 pages of photocopying. This policy is consistent with the Freedom of Information Act price schedule which allows the provision of the first l00 pages of copies of FAA documents at no charge to individual requesters. Personal materials brought in from outside the library should not be copied. There is a pay machine in the Employee's Association Bookstore for personal photocopies. Work-related materials brought in from outside the library should be copied at the employee's work area since the library's photocopier is designed only for low-volume copying.

Those making photocopies should adhere to applicable copyright law provisions. A notice of copyright restrictions is posted above the library photocopier.
