Fall here generally lasts from mid-September through November. Autumn is a great, uncrowded time to visit the parks. The weather may bring sudden storms and deliver snow as low as the sequoia groves. A few facilities start to close but many remain open. To learn more information about fall in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, check out the links below or call 1-559-565-3341.

Did You Know?
Sequoias get so large because they grow fast over a long lifetime. They live so long because they are resistant to many insects and diseases, and because they can survive most fires. Sequoias do have a weakness — a shallow root system. The main cause of death among mature sequoias is toppling.
