ADOPTION SEMINAR AND FAIR FOR FEDERAL EMPLOYEES CONSIDERING FAMILY ADDITION

Washington, D.C. -- The U.S. Office of Personnel Management and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services will co-sponsor two events in June to encourage federal employees to consider adopting from among the 500,000 children in the public foster-care system.

The seminar and fair are open to the media.

The adoption seminar featuring HHS Secretary Donna Shalala and OPM Director Jim King will be held on:

Tuesday, June 17 (11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.)
Office of Personnel Management
Theodore Roosevelt Federal Building
1900 E Street, NW
Auditorium (ground-floor level)

The adoption fair will include adoptive parents from HHS and OPM who will discuss their experiences in giving permanent homes to children previously in foster care. The fair will be held on:

Wednesday, June 25 (10 a.m. - 3 p.m.)
Health and Human Services
Hubert H. Humphrey Building
The Great Hall
