Group Programs

Volunteer Will Jolliffe with a group of cub scouts at the NREL Visitors Center.

The NREL Visitors Center offers education programs for children, teens and adults free of charge. These programs follow the monthly theme and provide a fun and engaging way to explore renewable energy and energy efficiency concepts and applications in an interactive environment. Each scheduled program is guided and includes a welcome video on the nature of renewable energy, a presentation on NREL's research and technologies and an appropriate exercise to discover our interactive exhibit hall. Reservations should be made at least 30 days in advance, and groups must include a minimum of 15 people. Contact David Glickson at 303-275-4097 or Ivilina Thornton at 303-384-6566 to make your group reservation. Small groups interested in a self-guided experience are encouraged to call ahead.

Get Smart about Energy at the NREL Visitors Center

The NREL Visitors Center is now offering information on "hot" topics in renewable energy. Our goal is to make you smart about solar, wind, biomass and many other energy resources, and keep you coming back for new programs.

Find out about NREL's "flagship" programs—Renewable Electricity and Renewable Fuels—which are directly aligned with the national goals to change the way we power our homes, businesses, and cars.

We offer monthly public programs on a variety of topics; programs and field trips for teachers and students; special exhibitions; and information in the DOE Public Reading Room. You will find information about technologies and products, tax incentives and rebates and helpful links to special web sites.

Our staff and volunteers will be happy to answer any questions help you navigate our interactive exhibit hall.
