Public Access Computers

A SmartCard TM is required for all Library computer use. The SmartCard TM costs $3.00 and also functions as a regular library card. Using the LibraryGuardian SmartCard TM system allows customers to:

  • Use computers up to 3 hours per day system-wide, depending upon availability.
  • Determine the appropriate Internet access level for themselves and their children.
  • Sign up in a branch library for the next available computer.
  • Manage printing costs by adding funds to their SmartCard TM .
  • Choose to save their favorite computer "bookmarks" with their SmartCard TM .
  • Ensure security with a unique password.

free wifi City-Provided Free Wireless Access

Customers within the coverage area can access the Internet and enjoy browsing the Web and checking and sending E-mail.
To enjoy the free wireless access, you only need a functioning device (laptop computer, PDA, Pocket PC) that contains a properly configured wireless network adapter.
Customers using wireless access in the Albuquerque/Bernalillo County libraries must still follow our computer use policy and computer rules. List of Free Wireless locations.
