The ASPIRA Association promotes the empowerment of the Puerto Rican and Latino community by developing and nurturing the leadership, intellectual, and cultural potential of its youth so that they may contribute their skills and dedication to the fullest development of the Puerto Rican and Latino community everywhere. Based on this philosophy, the ASPIRA Association has defined its mission as follows: To empower the Puerto Rican and Latino community through advocacy and the education and leadership development of its youth.

The Hispanic American Police Command Officers Association (HAPCOA) is a nonprofit organization composed of command-level officers from local, county, state and federal law enforcement agencies throughout the United States. Organized into various chapters nationwide, HAPCOA continues to provide yearly national conferences for training, networking and establishing relationships within the law enforcement profession.

The National Alliance for Hispanic Health (NAHH) is the oldest and largest network of health and human service providers servicing over 10 million Hispanic consumers throughout the U.S. Since 1973 it has grown from a small coalition of visionary mental health providers to a large, dynamic, and strong group of organizations and individuals.

The Latino Council on Alcohol and Tobacco (LCAT) is a non profit orgnization created in 1989 to combat alcohol and tobacco problems in the Latino Community. The Latino Council produces educational materials and newsletters to help community groups, national organizations and individuals obtain current information and become active in stopping the harm tobacco and alcohol products are having in the Latino community.

The National Association of Hispanic Nurses (NAHN) strives to serve the nursing and health care delivery needs of the Hispanic community and the professional needs of Hispanic nurses. NAHN is designed and committed to work toward improvement of the quality of health and nursing care for Hispanic consumers and toward providing equal access to educational, professional, and economic opportunities for Hispanic nurses.

The National Hispanic Medical Association (NHMA) was organized in 1994 to address the interests and concerns of 26,000 licensed physicians and 1,800 full-time Hispanic medical faculty dedicated to teaching medical and health services research. As a rapidly growing national resource based in the nation's capital, NHMA provides policymakers and health care providers with expert information and support in strengthening health service delivery to Hispanic communities across the nation.

The National Council of La Raza (NCLR) is a private, nonprofit, nonpartisan, tax-exempt organization established in 1968 to reduce poverty and discrimination, and improve life opportunities, for Hispanic Americans. NCLR has chosen to work toward this goal through two primary, complementary approaches:

1. Capacity-building assistance to support and strengthen Hispanic community-based organizations.
2. Applied research, policy analysis, and advocacy.

The National Latino Children’s Institute (NLCI) is the voice for young Latinos. It is the only national Latino organization that focuses exclusively on children. Incorporated in 1997 in Texas, NLCI has its headquarters in San Antonio, and is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, 501(C)3 tax-exempt organization. NLCI’s mission is to serve as the voice for young Latinos. NLCI staff fulfills the mission by promoting and implementing the National Latino Children’s Agenda.

The Mission of the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) is to advance the economic condition, educational attainment, political influence, health and civil rights of the Hispanic population of the United States.
