Spotter Report Entry Form

You
are welcome to submit spotter reports to the National Weather
Service in Marquette provided they concern events which
occurred within our county warning
area (west and central Upper Michigan).

Information provided on this form may be used by the National Weather Service (NWS) for official purposes in any way, including public release and publication in NWS products. False statements on this form may be subject to prosecution under the False Statement Accountability Act of 1996 (18 U.S.C. ยง 1001) or other statutes.
*** NOTICE ***
In addition, please do not submit a report unless it meets
at least one of the following criteria:

Observed precipitation for an event
- Observed
snowfall of 1 inch or more for an event
- Snow
Depth of 1 inch or more (feel free to send daily reports)
- Hail
of any size
- Wind
gusts in excess of 50 mph (please indicate whether
winds were measured or estimated)
- Tornado
or funnel cloud
- Waterspout
- Flooding
- Ice
jams of rivers or streams
- Weather
related damage to buildings, trees, or vehicles
We
do ask that you also contact your local law enforcement
agency with reports of severe weather, such as tornadoes,
large hail, damaging winds, and flash flooding.
Please
provide us with the following information:
- Your
name and e-mail address ( without a name, email or phone number we will be unable
to verify the report and therefore will be be unable to use the report)
- The
date and time of the event
- The
location of the event (including the county,
city/town, and street if possible)
- Your
phone number (this will be helpful in case we
need to contact you to verify the report or obtain additional
information)
- The
type of event, and event details
- To
ensure that you make accurate snowfall measurements,
we suggest you read
the National Weather Service snow measurement guidelines.
