I would like to recommend that cruise ships designate certain elevators as “wheelchair or scooter use only” during peak use periods. These periods should include embarkation, debarkation, dining times, show times and all emergencies. My wife and I have had to wait endlessly as fellow passengers dashed around my wheelchair to fill up elevators. Other elevators arrived too packed to accommodate my wheelchair. On debarkation of a recent cruise, it took us over 40 minutes to find an available elevator that could accommodate my wheelchair.

This recommendation could be implemented easily with no cost to the cruise lines.
