For Community Planners
A network of Community Planners

Community planners for early childhood and schoolage care must have an understanding of the existing landscape of data and resources when making decisions about the allocation of funds or making other policy decisions in their community. Typical questions may be:
  • What is currently being spent on child care in our locality?
  • What is the supply of child care for infants and toddlers, preschool and schoolage children?
  • How many programs/slots do we have and how many do we need?
  • How much does a quality early childhood or schoolage program cost?

The following links may assist your community planning efforts and help reach the child care system goals of increased availability of safe, quality, and affordable child care for all working families.
