Multi-Year Flood Hazard Identification Plan (MHIP)

How is it updated?

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) encourages feedback from National Flood Insurance Program and Flood Map Modernization program stakeholders, including local community and State officials, engineering and mapping contractors, participants in Cooperating Technical Partners program, national organizations that represent flood map users and other stakeholders, and the general public. Local communities are encouraged to contact their appropriate local and State officials, who are working with one of the 10 FEMA Regional Offices.

FEMA will review comments and respond as appropriate. Comments specific to sequencing of flood map updates within a State will be provided to the appropriate FEMA Regional Office and/or State agency to address. Comments specific to flood hazard mapping for a specific geographic area will also be forwarded to the FEMA Regional Office.

FEMA encourages all interested parties to subscribe to FEMA's Flood Hazard Mapping Activities for e-mail notifications on the availability of MHIP updates.
