Passes & Permits

Many activities on National Forest Lands require permits or passes. Some are free, some aren't. The most commonly requested passes and permits are listed here. For more information, please contact the Okanogan National Forest.

Locations requiring a Recreation Pass

Recreation Passes, such as the Northwest Forest Pass are required for the use of many improved trailheads, picnic areas, boat launches and interpretive sites on National Forests throughout Oregon and Washington. Interagency Passes such as Annual, Senior, Access. Golden age and Access Passes are still honored.

Special Use Permits
  • No Wilderness permit is needed, but you are required to register at the trailheads.
Product Removal Permits
  • Prior authorization or permit is required for removing any product from National Forest Land. This includes firewood, Christmas Trees, boughs, seedlings, cones, rocks, etc.
